Muskoka Staffing managers are non-commission, salaried professionals who work as a team in a non-competitive environment to find the best candidates for your company. With our interactive computer "matching" system, we respond quickly and efficiently in assigning temporary placements and qualified professionals to a wide variety of job classifications. Once we have thoroughly evaluated the exact job requirements, we carefully select the most qualified people to "fit" the position.

Muskoka Staffing is regularly interviewing and assessing potential new Associates. Prior to placement, each Associate has a one-on-one behaviourally-based interview with either our Account Manager or Recruitment Manager. We believe that this interviewing process is important so that we can assess an Associate's experience skill set, as well as personal strengths and to "get to know" the Associate to determine which potential position would be suitable. This ensures the best possible match between our Associates and our Clients.
We follow-up with you within a few days of the commencement of a new assignment. A large percentage of our placements are "repeats", Associates who have been requested back to a particular placement, and this is reflected in our follow-up procedures (i.e., we may not call the Client for feedback on a repeat, and successful placement). Our Clients are encouraged to provide us with feedback on our services and, of course, on our performance.
For full-time hires, a one time flat fee is paid by the Client upon
hiring one of our Associates.
Please note that a portion of the flat fee includes a retainer fee
which is due prior to commencing the recruitment process. Upon
hiring of the successful candidate, the retainer fee will be
deducted from the final invoice.
Our hiring process includes:
(i) searching our extensive database
of Associates to match the skills requested by the Client,
(iv) making all arrangements for interview
appointments,
(v)
conducting initial interviews and
skills testing (if required),
(vi) completing reference checks, and
(vii)
forwarding résumés and/or interview
results of qualified Associates to the Client for review.
Temporary and contract employment offers increased flexibility for employers who wish to increase their staffing resources for a specific need or require additional staff over a specific period of time.
We are responsible for the remittance of all
applicable payroll deductions on your behalf (Federal Tax, Provincial Tax, EI, CPP,
WSIB, EHT, and vacation pay), and the creation/mailing of the
Associate’s year-end T4 for tax purposes.
An Associate hourly billing rate will be suggested to the
Client based on the industry average.
The hourly billing rate plus HST must be agreed upon prior to the
Associate being placed with the Client.
For many of our Clients, the ability to "try out" an Associate on the job prior to committing to a permanent hire is a preferred hiring tool, saving them the very high cost of a bad hire. This staffing option offers the perfect solution!
Our Associate works for our Client on a full-time basis for a total of 550 hours and remains on Muskoka Staffing payroll. After completion of the required hours, the Client can opt to have the Associate "roll-over" onto the Client's payroll as a permanent employee, without any additional fees from us.
If your staffing needs don't quite fit into one of our above-noted options, we offer value added services that can be tailored to your requirements, such as:
(i) assistance with your own recruitment process - for example, screening applicants, interviewing applicants, reference checking. We do this every day! We can help those Clients who are not accustomed to the hiring process and the legal requirements related to it,
(ii) creative solutions - for example, forecasting and arranging staffing for project-specific timeframes over a couple of months, or on a yearly basis,
(iii) home-based work - for example, having Associates work from home instead of at your place of business to complete computer work or sales phone calls,
(iv) assistance with Client-directed supplementary labour pool - facilitate the Client's recruitment process (résumé screening, interviews, reference checks, skills testing, orientation) to create an employee call list for Muskoka Staffing to fill required Client shifts on a weekly basis.
